The Transporter (2002) mixes martial arts and car chases with aerial gymnastics that play like a ballet.
Directed by Louis Leterrier, Corey Yuen.
Starring Jason Statham, Qi Shu, François Berléand and Matt Schulze among many others.
What makes this movie outstanding for me is the chemistry between Jason and Qi. Jason also has good repore with François that gets developed throughout the sequels. Jason and Matt also had good chemistry. What this tells me is that Jason is really communicating on a personal level with his various scene partners. You see that kind of chemistry between a lead and his many co-stars in Sylvester Stallone's, Rocky (1976). Corey and Luc Besson choreograph a lot martial arts and car chases with aerial gymnastics that play like a ballet.
In the scene below Jason and Qi are like protons fired at each other inside the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) near Geneva, Switzerland that on impact will astounds us. Statham and Shu really do astound in their lively, humorous innuendoes laced scenes.
